PokerTek And Casino Gambling In US Coming Together Quickly
PokerTek has been taking US casinos by storm in their attempt to have their PokerPro Texas Hold ‘em poker tables placed in all of the finest gambling locations in the country.

Betting Strategy at Three Card Poker
Although this table game uses the hand rankings and general concept of poker, it lacks the subtlety and skill of variations like Texas holdem and seven card stud, where the players compete directly with one another. In fact, three card poker is even simpler to play than uk online blackjack, in which the player must learn the optimal decision for each set of hands in relation to the dealers up card. Three card poker involves only three decisions: Is it worth playing due to the payout structure? Should I bet the Pair Plus? Do I fold or play my hand? Lets start with the first question. While roughly similar, there are several different payout structures on the ante bet, which vary from casino to casino. Fortunately, the difference in house edge in almost all of these structures is less than 1%. When choosing where to play, your best option will be a table that pays 5 to 1 on a straight flush and 4 to 1 on three of a kind, although 3 to 1 isnt much worse. You should be aware, however, that there are some casinos that do not pay a bonus on the ante when the player makes a straight, improving the house edge. If possible, avoid three card poker at these casinos, even if a special payout for a Mini Royal Flush is offered. The next decision you need to make is whether or not to play the Pair Plus circle. A friend of mine once told me a story about how his father had won a lot of money using the strategy of betting on the Pair Plus, as if this were some sort of expert move. On the contrary, the Pair Plus is often seen as a sucker bet, as it serves merely to increase the house edge, though the prospect of a big payday on a straight flush is certainly enticing. The most common pay structure, in which a flush pays 3 to 1, is actually the least favorable to the player. In general, play at places that offer 4 to 1 odds on a flush and 6 to 1 on a straight; the other hands are rare enough that slight variations in the payout do not much matter. If youve decided to play in the game at all, you must then choose to fold or play your hand each round. Fortunately, this is probably the easiest decision of all: bet the Play if your hand is Q-6-4 or better and fold if it is lower. In other words, play any hand that contains a king, any hand that contains a queen and a seven or better, and any hand that contains a queen, a six, and a four or better. This hand is the cutoff point for where the player begins to lose less than he would lose by folding. Using this strategy and betting the Pair Plus would give the house an edge of a little over 5%, which is higher than blackjack and some bets on the craps table but not too bad when compared with many of the other bets in the casino.

Play Australian online casinos casinos games specially for Australian players

Winslow puts online poker on the debate
Winslow puts online poker on the debate Choose your language Thursday, Jan 19, 2012 Home > Poker News > Winslow puts online poker on the debate by Sunday,9 Oct 2011 There is good news for online poker fans in Massachusetts as online poker is on the table for debate Things are looking up for those who enjoy online poker in Massachusetts as their representative, Daniel Winslow, introduces a new amendment to a bill that would see more gambling in the state. The amendment would see the state gaming commission called upon to “establish a committee to analyze and develop recommendations and model legislation” as well as “include an analysis of applicable federal and state law,” in a report that would need to be ready by July 2012.The amendment is a very small, though potentially significant half page addition to a bill that is already 164 pages long. The majority of the bill details very carefully how the state will implement live casino gaming rather than facilitate gaming online. The amendment was probably kept short on purpose so as not to affect the way any of the state representatives are likely to vote. The bill was in fact passed by the House with a massive margin at 123-32 and now has to be ratified by the state senate. The bill is to be discussed by the senate at the end of September. For internet poker to be legalised in the Massachusetts area all that has to happen now is that the senators pass the bill in full without referring to Winslows half page addition. There is still a long way to go before online poker becomes state law. This is particularly because the bill goes through the conference phase that ensures the bill passed by the senate is the same as that passed by the House. The governor will still have to agree to the plan as will the legislature ensuring that there is a lengthy process ahead for those who enjoy online poker in the Bay State with pundits expecting that not before 2013 will players be able to take to the virtual felt if at all. Many fans of the game will take it as a victory that the introduction of online poker is even up for debate. In the past 10 years there have been attempts to introduce legislation for online gaming into other bills that have fallen flat and even discussion of it was considered taboo. The truth of the matter is that regardless of what the state decides the real decision is going to depend on what happens in Washington DC as lawmakers are already debating whether or not to maintain the nationwide ban still in effect.

The Gold Rush Poker platform is adopted by ICON
by Sunday,11 Sep 2011 In the space between online poker and the law ICON are able to offer online poker services Since the United States Department of Justice (DoJ) ejected the top three online poker sites in the world from the US market some crazy things have been happening in the poker world over in the USA. The first thing that happened was a lot of former online pros upped sticks and left the US for a country where online poker is still legal, Canada being the destination of choice for most pros who have left. Other things have happened also, the live game in the United States has picked up in pace and in popularity. The pros who stayed have no option but to play more in casinos. Another thing that has changed is the business of poker where new companies and websites have sprouted to fill the void between the law and the desire of fans to carry on playing. One of these websites is the Independent Casino Online Network (ICON), this network has created a space whereby it can legally provide online poker services in the United States without breaking the law. This is because instead of awarding cash for each win, points are awarded which can then be traded in for expensive items such as cars, computers and ipods. The people at ICON have announced that they intend to operate Gold Rush Poker as their official poker platform. The guys at ICON have established a network allowing other casinos to participate in their poker services. By establishing a network that is open to all casinos ICON are smoothly taking market share so that when online poker is legalised they will already have all of the casinos signed up to their network. When poker is legalised again they will simply awarding cash instead of points to their poker players. The Gold Rush Poker network is a very high tech poker system that provides a really impressive platform for online poker players to practise their game. Of the partnership between ICON and Gold Rush John George the CEO of Gold rush said that “We are excited to be associated with another forward thinking companyThis partnership sets us up to be at the forefront of the future of American online gaming. By using our platform, casinos will be able to increase profit by tapping into our player base and strategic marketing campaigns. This is a great opportunity.”

Lock Poker is making waves with the Malta LGA
by Sunday,18 Sep 2011 Despite the fact that their logo appears on the Lock Poker website the Malta LGA says they are not affiliated The Poker industry has had more than its fair share of scandals, what with the events of April the 15th or Black Friday and the Full Tilt Poker scandal that rocked the online poker world one would have thought that there have been enough shady goings on to last a life time. Apparently Lock Poker disagree, they are currently in a spat with the Malta Licensing Authority as they have been displaying their logo on the Lock Poker website for some time despite the fact that according to the Maltese gaming authority the appearance on the Lock Poker site of their logo is both false and misleading. After looking into the matter a little more deeply it can be understood where the poker site may have made their mistake. Lock Poker belongs to the Merge Gaming Network which does, in fact, have a category four gaming license that was issued to them by the Lotteries and Gaming Authority (LGA) of Malta. Lock Poker may have assumed that because the network was certified by the LGA then that would extend to them. The LGA have been very forceful in underlining the fact that this is absolutely not the case and the errant poker room are likely to come under massive pressure to remove the logo from both the Maltese authorities and their own network. The precise statement from the LGA was as follows; The Lotteries and Gaming Authority (the Authority’) would like to inform the public that the websitehttp://lockpoker.eu/ has no connection whatsoever with the Authority and therefore any mention of the Authority or licence issued by the Authority on the mentioned website is false and misleading. There isnt much room for interpretation from a statement like this, it is pretty clear what the situation is. The Maltese authority doesnt just have a very loud bark but an extremely tough bite as well. They havent hesitated to suspend and/or cancel the licenses of gaming companies that they have found to be in breach of their own rules. The list of suspended gaming sites is long and illustrious with the Betonbet, Gold Victory, Betchance and many more suspended sites able to vouch for this. Lock Poker are going to have to remove the logo or continue to face the wrath of the Maltese LGA one of the most respected gaming authorities in the world.

Chris Harder talks about Black Friday
Chris Harder talks about Black Friday Choose your language Tuesday, Oct 11, 2011 Home > Poker Rules > Articles > Chris Harder talks about Black Friday by Tuesday,16 Aug 2011 Chris Harder is fast becoming a living poker legend with over $4 million in winnings There are tens of thousands of people all around the world who take their seats at the felt and play poker in the hope of becoming one of them, one of the elite few who can read the cards and the people holding them to ensure success at 99% of the poker games they sit down to play. The truth is that the vast majority of people are going to be sorely disappointed. Some people can do it and everyone else is giving them their money. This is a fundamental truth that Christian Harder has never had to learn. Christian is most definitely one of them Harder was winning at poker from the moment he first sat down to play. He has demonstrated his prowess both online and at live games and can make money regardless of whether he is playing in a cash game or a tournament and his online earnings are estimated at over $2.5 million, while his live tournament pay outs stand at over $1.8 million. He is fortunate to be a master of both the online and the live game as many online professionals have seen their source of income dry up since the April 15th US government crackdown on online poker that has come to be known as Black Friday. He knows this himself saying that I was in shock. I guess I kind of expected it to come in the future but for it to happen so quickly and so all of a sudden. Things literally unravelled in a matter of hours. It was quite a shock because there was no warning, he said. This young poker pro first found himself playing the game while at Salisbury University near where he grew up in Maryland. From there he just went from strength to strength. After taking on his buddies and winning in smaller games he decided to try his luck online and found that he had a talent for the game. The Black Friday crackdown came as a shock to all in the industry and Harder didnt see it coming I definitely feel bad for kids like that who have no experience and probably have most of their money tied up. It doubly hurts. Luckily I enjoy live poker and Ive played a lot of it. Ive almost been playing all live poker in the last six months anywaysI definitely feel bad for kids like that who have no experience and probably have most of their money tied up. It doubly hurts.

Negreanu knows what’s what in the world of poker
by Thursday,22 Sep 2011 Already a poker legend Daniel Negreanu is taking a bigger role behind the scenes Some of the biggest poker stars in the world are logging on to their PokerStars accounts in order to get in on the estimated $30 million dollars cash thats available in the PokerStars World Championship of Online Poker (WCOOP) event that is happening right now and continues for the best part of a month. One player who cant stop writing, tweeting and generally blabbing about the massive event is Canadian Poker mega star Daniel Negreanu. This player is one of the most instantly recognisable faces of the game and is constantly appearing on television in both live events as well as online games. In the wake of the Black Friday events Negreanu left his home in Las Vegas, Nevada and returned to his native Canada in order to continue playing the online game. The WCOOP will provide him with an excellent opportunity to ensure that this was the right decision as he looks to grab a big piece of the pot in the coming days. As one of the faces of PokerStars Negreanu is often talking about their events and issues, recently he tweeted about their technical issues to reassure players that they were under control. He is known not to shy away from the major issues of the day and strongly criticised Full Tilt Poker when they were involved in a spat with fellow poker megastar Phil Ivey over their refusal to payback their players funds. The Canadian player isnt just valued for his poker skills but also for his business acumen. The Vice President of the World Series of Poker (WSOP), Ty Stewart, said of Negreanu that “He’s the complete package. There are many brilliant thinkers on the poker side but he understands the business and marketing side as well as anyone is able to.” He even went as far as saying Id happily work for him one day. Negreanu is known for associating not just with poker players but also with the executives who run the tournaments, offering advice on how to improve their services and attract more players. Even Phil Helmuth admits that Negreanu is one helluva businessman saying “Yeah, he’s definitely a good ambassador for poker,” Hellmuth admitted. “He’s a really good one, maybe great. He generates a lot of interest amongst fans all across the planet. People want to watch him play, hear his shtick, you know?

It sucks as Ive been playing close to my A-game, but Im really being slaughtered by cold deck situations (nights with 3 set-over-set instances etc, it sucks badly) Yesterday I lost a big chunk of my bankroll in a rollercoaster I can only describe as sick Flopped quad tens to get rivered by Quad kings (all the money went in on the turn, obv nothing he could do but still), made a straight flush and LOST against the higher straight flush and flopped a set of sixes only to get beat by a set of aces that decided to smoothcall pre-flop BAH October 8, 2008 | In Personal, Quads, Straight Flush, gambling, poker | No Comments RSS feed for comments on this post.
